Wii Game: NBA Live 08
Yep… it was only so long before I wrote a Wii review… lol and it just had to be from EA sports.
I know you’re probably thinking that all EA sports titles are the same and never change etc. Well… as true as this normally is, you have to remember this is the Wii, the console that has the ability to use amazing controls as well as great gameplay. So this year I thought EA have had a year to perfect their motion controlled sports games so I decided that basketball could be fun. So I went out and got it.
First put-off no symbol on the box to say it has Wi-Fi/Online Play (edit: It says on the back it has online play, no Nintendo WiFi Logo because I don’t think it uses the nintendo servers for online.). Other than that the box looks nice. I got home then started playing. It took a couple of games to get used to the game and controls. The family play controls make it easier for the rest of your family (hence the name) to play. Even my dad was playing and scoring baskets.

The Advanced Controls were for the more serious gamer. It took a little longer to learn these controls but still wasn’t too bad. This game is a fun, easy to play game. Great if you like playing or watching basketball. A bit similar to other EA sports games so I won’t review NBA Live 09 next year… unless I have nothing else to review.
Great fun. Great game. Fun to play with others.
Graphics – 9/10 – Some of the most impressive graphics I’ve seen on the Wii so far. Bravo EA
Gameplay – 8.5/10 – Great fun
Controls – 9/10 – Great controls!
Online – Untested so far
Overall – 9/10 – 87%

In position!
Name’s SakuraMaxX (in reference to songs). I will provide Wii, DS, arcade, and PC game reviews. I have been gaming since I was maybe 3 years old, and I’m 13 now. I live in America, and I’m a dedicated gamer with gamer A.D.D. (which means I play a game, and switch to another real fast. I can’t focus on just one). I personally like to play a lot of Crysis and Drift City in my time, and I’m an RPG specialist. Currently starting FPS games. I have been playing a lot of rhythm games, such as Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero. Look out for my reviews, and I’ll be staying here for a looooooooong time.
PS3 game: Resistance fall of man
Resistance is a first person shooter with a sci-fi/horror setting. It has a simple but good story. World War II never happend and there aren’t any big conflicts between countries. All of a sudden the Chimera (Sort of monsters) takes over the whole world. The whole world, except the UK. You are Nathan Hale, an American soldier who needs to defend the last part of the world against the chimera. So far the story, I don’t want to spoil anything.
When you play resistance you get overwhelmed with weapons and monsters. Insomniac made some very original weapons like the auger. When you use the secundary fire of the gun it blasts a shield in front of you which can be pretty handy. If these guns aren’t enough you can always throw a granate or make use of mines. The game contains out of short levels. Your task is to get more information about the chimera, usually this ends in killing everything that crosses your road. Every level is in another environment, that’s why it never gets boring. If you are in the habit of playing fps, the controls of resistance will be very simple. It’s just the basic stuff. The graphs and the physics are almost perfect. When you play the game on the standard difficulty it’s pretty challenging, it gives you 14-15 hours gameplay. After you finished the game you get some extra weapons, this gives a great replay-value to the game.

Online:
The multiplayer mode is in one word AWESOME. You got the classic online modes like deathmath, team deathmatch and capture the flag but also breach , meltdown, … The game has a lot of maps ( honestly, I don’t know how much) with different environments from in-game levels plus some new ones. You can decide if you play unranked matches, just for fun, or ranked matches. When you play a ranked match you play 2 rounds. One round as human and one round as a Hybrid (smart chimera monster). Your weapons and abilities depend on the person you are. You gain points in these matches so you can improve your ranking. The servers load very fast and I never expierenced any lag problems. The game has some extra options like clans (for maximum 200(!) members), stats, partys, friend list, etc. If you want a great online expierence, just buy this game.
Resistance is definitly worth buying. This is the best first person shooter for ps3
Graphics: 9.5/10
Gameplay: 9.5/10
Overall: 92%
+ weapons, environment, replay-value.
- uh? Nothing special.
You can expect reviews of call of duty 3, motorstorm and assasins creed (haven’t completed it yet)

PS3 Game: Skate
EA definitely had a big challenge with this game, because tony hawk ruled the skate-empire for over 7 years. In my opinion they’ve accomplished their mission.
Skate is a very nice game with an innovative control system. The ‘flick-it’ system gives you freedom in your moves and feels really natural. The game has very nice graphics and realistic animations, though it has some problems with the camera. The low-view camera concentrates on your feet which is irritating when you’re heading for a grind. I can’t say much about the story because the game doesn’t really have a story. You can choose out of, freeskate, career or online. In the career mode you get some tasks from racing against others to ‘posing’ for game-magazine covers or making little videos for sponsors. The explanation of the tasks isn’t very clear for non-skaters when you get something like: Gap the street and grind the hubba. But these drawbacks don’t make a bad game of skate. The freedom and the controls are awesome.
Online:
Haven’t fully tested the online features, but they are very boring. In hit the spot you need to score the most points on ‘a spot’ (rail, stairs, etc). The ‘freeskate’ feature online is fun if you play it with some friends, but gets boring after a while. Online: 6.5/10
Skate puts realism and satisfaction in front of combos and unbelievable tricks. The game has some drawbacks but you’ve got to remember that it’s the first skateboarding-game of EA.
Graphics: 8.5/10
Gameplay: 9.5/10
Overall: 8.5/10
+ flick-it system, freedom in your moves, realism and the satisfaction you get when doing a perfect trick.
– video-editor, story, sometimes the game looks like a sponsor-show, online features

Hi everyone…
Hi I’m Svennie93 and I’ll provide you with PS3 reviews. I’ll try to review as much games as possible and I hope these will be a great help. Maybe there will be some spelling mistakes (I think Jackreyes will correct them) but I’m from Belgium and it’s only my third year I can write proper English.
Well hope you enjoy my work.

DS Game: Mario Party DS
I earlier previewed Mario Party DS, My views on it weren’t too positive, after playing the game for longer will my views have changed? Well the straight answer is no. This is yet another cliched, boring Mario Party game. It lacks one vital feature, Wi-Fi, this was promised to us by Nintendo but they failed to deliver.
That was negative… but the thing is, maybe I’ve just played too many Mario Party games. If this is the first Mario Party game you intend to play then you’ll probably love it, story mode, free play and unlockable… stuff. Usually the things that make a game good, and despite me being negative about it earlier, thats what this game is, good. I just expected a lot more from it. The mini games are all pretty cool I must say. And this game would be good to play in the car I expect.
Gameplay: 8/10
Graphics: 7.5/10
Controls: 8/10
Multiplayer: 4/10 – I haven’t used multicard or download play yet, I’m basing this score on Wi-Fi, or the lack of it anyway.
Overall – 6.5/10 – 65%
Anyway thats another review done, I’ve been meaning to do a follow up for a while now.
Have a good Christmas guys.
My next post will be an announcement.

WFC Status
This site: http://wfcstatus.net/index.php provides the WFC Status programme. This allows you to see how many people started a Nintendo Wi-Fi/WiFi game in the last hour, in the whole day and other stats, also high scores. Would be nice to see how many people are currently online and also if possible for game like MPH and MKDS to see how many people are currently searching for a game.
The software supports DS Commercial and Homebrew and Wii games.
It is a great recommended download if you use WiFi games a lot.
